Gold IRA Due Diligence Scorecard
Before choosing a precious metals company, it helps to check the same set of signals every time. Tick each item a company confirms — ideally in writing — and this scorecard returns an educational readiness score with the gaps highlighted. It is a research aid, not a recommendation or a rating of any specific company.

Score a Company Across 18 Checks
Work through one company at a time. Tick only the items the company actually confirms — leave the rest blank. The score updates as you go. Nothing is saved or sent; this runs entirely in the browser.
Compare your top two companies head to head
Once a couple of companies score well, line their written quotes up side by side in the dealer comparison worksheet.
Open the Comparison Worksheet →What the Score Means
- 14–18 — Strong paper trail. The company confirms most signals in writing. Still verify each one directly and review with a professional.
- 8–13 — Mixed. Several gaps. Ask for the missing items in writing before going further.
- 0–7 — Thin. Many signals are unconfirmed. A thin paper trail is a reason to slow down, not speed up.
The score measures what a company will confirm in writing, not whether any company is "good" or "bad." A strong score is a research signal, not an endorsement.
Important Context
- This scorecard is educational and does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice.
- It does not rate, rank, or endorse any specific company.
- Annual administration and storage fees are generally charged by independent custodians and depositories, not by a precious metals company.
- Customers should verify each item directly and consult qualified professionals before deciding.
